Friday, October 23

It's been a long week in some ways and a very fast week in others. We - mom, Josh and myself - left Tuesday afternoon for Myrtle Beach. We didn't get as far as I would have liked because some little man was very tired but refused to sleep in the car. It did not make for a fun 4 hour drive that day. We stopped and got a place to stay the night. Then he was wired and all ready to run and play. By that time I was tired and ready for bed. Frustrated and far from relaxed. when i started to cry Josh came over to me, put his arm around me and patted my back saying Mommy, Mommy. Ah... How can you be upset with him after that?

We did try to teach him some Christmas songs on the way down. He thinks it's very funny to hear Nena and mommy singing. Not sure if it's because we say the same thing at the same time or if it's because of how wonderfully we sing. :-) He will say Jingle Bells and sometimes the "hey" part and he likes Deck the Halls with the Fa la la la part. LOL

We got up and ate breakfast and left there at 7am. Ended up in Myrtle Beach around 2pm. Had a few stops for the boy. We took him to the beach and he was afraid of the waves. Poor guy. Loved the sand but kept picking up sticks and things. Ick! I was afraid he'd try to eat them.

This is our room. Nice huh?! Mom said she wants an apartment this size!

Ah - the view...

Yesterday we went to the beach again. Thought we'd try it again when Josh wasn't so sleepy. Uh no. Still afraid of the waves. So we went to the pool. He really liked that. He had his floaties on and I think that helped. He still wanted to hang on me but after awhile would float a little on his own with me close by.

We did a repeat of yesterday today with the pool. That was nice and relaxing but someone seemed ready for a nap so we left and tried to nap. he wouldn't nap at all! Oh well.

We also went to Broadway at the Beach yesterday. Josh had a good time playing on the dinosaurs. :-)

Today we went to the Japanese steakhouse for dinner. Even with no nap he did very well. He didn't throw too much food and was pretty well behaved. He even ate some shrimp and a little steak. :-) He did really well and only threw food once one the grill. :-) It didn't touch anything else and wasn't eaten off of so all was good. He's getting a bubble bath now.

Right now I'm waiting for the rest of the "girls" to get here for the Cross Stitch Pals convention festivities for the evening. I was off by half an hour of when the start time was but at least I have some peace and quiet - something I don't get much of lately - and a few minutes to update the blog. Hope you enjoy the pictures and videos. I'll update more later.

Sunday, October 18

Today started out bad but got much better - so far. Josh took two naps and I got one. I got most things packed and in the car ready to leave on Tuesday for MB. Woohoo!!! I'd still like to get something around to stitch and finish an ornament but we'll see.

Josh is doing much better with steering his tractor. He's good enough that I got the cart out and put that on for him too. I think he liked it.

Right now he's eating oatmeal. I thought he got a spoon out of the drawer but he got a measuring cup instead. Apparently it's much yummier to eat it out of a measuring cup than off a spoon. :-)

Saturday, October 17 - Part 2

Josh and mommy were having fun today so Nena had to record it for you. Hope you like it. Like my new PJs? I couldnt' resist. :-)

After this we made cupcakes. They're shaped like a candy corn.

Josh also played with his big helicopter.

Saturday, October 17

It's been awhile since I posted last. I've been sick and dealing with a typical 2-yr old. He's still fun but a little less fun when you're sick.

Anyway - I have a few new pictures of him to share. The first is from Thursday night. He had some yogurt and apparently missed his mouth. LOL More practice perhaps?

He had some chicken stir fry that I made for dinner and lost a piece of zucchini down his shirt. He never did find it but I did. :-)

After dinner he laid down on the Thomas rug and I threw the blanket over him. Apparently that was good enough and he wanted a 'bunk bed'. Hmm... Maybe his next bed will be a bunk bed.

Today was another frustrating day at work but at least I got to come home to Josh. He's so funny! Today he wasn't too interested in dinner until I made him mac and cheese. He tore that up. In the meantime the dog ate more oatmeal - after he dumped it - than he did. He did eat a pudding pop though. :-) Cute isn't he?

I could tell he was getting tired but I wasn't quite ready for him to go to bed. So he made another one. He dumped all of his toys out his toybox and put his blue blankie and duckie pillow in and climbed in. So of course I had to cover him up. :-)

Sunday, October 11

Today didn't start out the best. Luckily Nena was here to help. She was a HUGE help! We tried to get Josh to take a nap after being up at 6 - but he was having nothign to do with it. So we kept putting him back in his room so we could work in th ecomputer room. Made a dent in that. but no naps for anyone. We also went throgh some of Josh's little baby toys and put them away and also picked a few to keep at nena's house. Mommy's hoping Nena has a sleepover soon but we'll see. :-)

Well Josh wouldn't listen to mommy so he got his second time out today. I had trouble not laughing at him since he'd sit with his feet on the kitchen chair wiggling his feet back and forth. Was kind of funny but he sat there. :-)

Yesterday we printed off daddy's picture and put it on the fridge so he could see it whenever he wanted to. He went over all on his own and pointed at it "Daddy Daddy!" with a great big smile. This time he kissed daddy's picture a few times without me asking him if he wanted to. Then he gave me the picture so I could kiss it too. :-) I think I need to laminate another one so sticky fingers won't ruin it. :-) I don't think this one will last too long.

Well he FINALLY took a nap around 3:30 and it's now almost 6 and he's still napping. I hope he's up soon so he's not up all night. We'll see...

Oh - I had really good intentions today but they didn't quite work out well. I had everythign set up to record the Eagles game for hubby and it didn't work out well. I noticed it about half time and started it but for some reason it only recorded an hour. OH well. Next week's is already set up to record. :-)

Well he's up - Good (I think).

Saturday, October 10

We got up today and Josh was just terrible most of the day. But we all survived. J He took a two hour nap this morning and I tried to nap but didn’t so that was a complete waste. Oh well – I did caught up on a Monk episode. J

We went to Wal-Mart and got Josh’s hair cut. He looks so handsome! He did very good and sat still until she got the clippers out. Apparently they tickle – a lot!

Mommy got the oil changed in her car while we shopped. As soon as we got back in the car Josh took a nap. Nena saw a nice chest freezer she’d like. I told her if she bought she could keep it at my house. LOL She didn’t buy it yet. It was a decent size for only about $200.

When we got home he went back to being bad. Nena came over and even Nena gave him a time out. It was his first one ever. You can’t tell from the picture because of the flash but it was dark in the kitchen too. Only had the stove light on. He was facing the door and everything. Poor guy. But he was much better after that. I guess we need a time out chair. J

Time to get off the computer. Big moon. Miss hubby…

Thursday, October 8

Today was a boring day. Nothing major happened. Josh did play outside tonight on his tractor. Nena got to see him steer it pretty well. He seemed to like running into the flowers today so mommy made him stop. Mean mommy! I think he was getting tired though.

Nena suggested mommy water her plants and then realized why mommy didn't want to with Josh around. Hmmm.... I can if I have to but it's a little difficult with a dog who wants to "catch" the water coming out of the hose and a little boy who wants to get the puppy with the hose and then swing around with it still running spraying everyone. I think it might have been when Nena realized Josh was trying to spray HER with the water that it was time to take him inside while mommy finished. :-)

Now I'm trying to get some pictures organized again. It's been awhile since I tried to put things on the computer and in the "correct" folders. I think I'll work on that tonight.

Miss hubby more than yesterday. Big moon tonight.

Wednesday, October 7

So I decided to get a little creative and change the background on my blog. Hoep you like it.

Today was another busy day. Not so much at work as things are still ab it slow there for me but they're starting to pick up. Josh made mommy put a coat on when we left the hosue this morning. I guess at 2 he's already looking out for mommy. :-)

We b rough some guests home tonight. They've been a big help with keeping Josh busy while I got a few things done. Floor hasn't been done yet but that's ok. Tomorrow. :-)

Josh got a cookie and made sure he gave everyone one. He would cry and get all upset if I tried to take the cookies from him since he had one already. Then I realized what he was doing. :-) He did the same thign when he got a cereal bar. I guess he's a thoughtful host huh? Where did he learn that from? :-)

No pics today - sorry. Enjoying the moon tonight - as I have a lot lately.

Night night.

Tuesday, October 6

Josh has found a new way to help mommy. I was getting the hose out to water all the new plants when someone took over. The dog loved it. Josh thought it was hilarious and when I gave him something to point at he did pretty good. :-) He only had one mishap that made him cry. When he was trying to get the hose to turn on and he pointed it at himself when it finally decided to cooperate.

After watering all fo the plants we went in for abubble bath. That went well. Now he's eating yogurt like he hasn't eaten in a week. LOL

We got a picture from daddy today. I showed Josh and he looked at it - Daddy! Daddy! Then he leaned in to the screen and gave daddy a big kiss. :-) I guess he misses Daddy as much as mommy does. :-)

I have a littl ehlp coming over tomorrow. they're going to help me watch Josh and maybe even with a little cleaning. Can you believe any 11 year old LIKES to vacuum and mop - even it's with a fun steam mop! They're spending the ngiht and I'll take them home in the morning when I drop Josh off at their house.

Well someone has finished their yogurt and is growling into the empty cup. I think it's about time for Sesame street and then to bed. (For both of us.)

Sunday, October 4

So here are some before and after pictures of the new things that have been planted. I didn't get a before picture for the nectarine and blueberry bushes but they were just added. Nothing was taken out.

Next is the trees in front of the house. This area is hard to get things to grow in so I hope these take soon. They're supposed to be in shade and get a peach colored flower.

This is the side of the house and hubby didn't like having to mow around things so I took some plants we ripped out and put them here. Some Irises next the house and hostas in front of them. I think they'll all fill in nicely and help hubby too.

Here are some before and after pics from in front of the house. I think it looks SO much better now. I hope hubby agrees. It was a lot of work and my back hurts! :-)

This is also the front of the house.

The last few...

And here is one of where the dog seems to think is his bed for the night. I suppose because I'm in his spot on the couch. LOL
Time for bed for me. I'm very tired. Going to take some Tylenol. My back hurts. Hmm... I wonder why...
Miss hubby...

Saturday, October 3

Today I got to finally tear out some plants and planted some new ones. I have some before pictures but I was too tired to take any afters just yet. Hopefully tomorrow I can post some of them. :-) i was very lucky to have my BIL Jeffy come to help me. We didn't ge everything done but my dad is comign tomorrow to help. Hopefully we can finish it up tomorrow.

Josh had a blast helping dig in the dirt. At one point he even tried to dig with his shovel using his foot like mommy and uncle Jeffy. Sorry - no pics of that.

Buddy also had fun today. Not sure if Jeffy thought so or not. :-)

Josh got some mail today from Daddy. He really liked his teddy bear. He gave it a hug and kiss.

Been a long day. Was up until 1am and the boy had me up a little after 6. Lots of work outside too. It's after 9:30 and I'm going to bed.
Night. Night.
