We had a nice day today with Nena, Aunt Stefi and Uncle Bett. Josh didn't like Uncle Bett right away but started to warm up to him later.
We had hamburgers and hotdogs, potato salad, mac and cheese, cupcakes, veggies and cantalope. All was very yummy! Josh had some issues with the icing but enjoyed it anyway. He's such a boy!

Friday, October 23
It's been a long week in some ways and a very fast week in others. We - mom, Josh and myself - left Tuesday afternoon for Myrtle Beach. We didn't get as far as I would have liked because some little man was very tired but refused to sleep in the car. It did not make for a fun 4 hour drive that day. We stopped and got a place to stay the night. Then he was wired and all ready to run and play. By that time I was tired and ready for bed. Frustrated and far from relaxed. when i started to cry Josh came over to me, put his arm around me and patted my back saying Mommy, Mommy. Ah... How can you be upset with him after that?
We did try to teach him some Christmas songs on the way down. He thinks it's very funny to hear Nena and mommy singing. Not sure if it's because we say the same thing at the same time or if it's because of how wonderfully we sing. :-) He will say Jingle Bells and sometimes the "hey" part and he likes Deck the Halls with the Fa la la la part. LOL
We got up and ate breakfast and left there at 7am. Ended up in Myrtle Beach around 2pm. Had a few stops for the boy. We took him to the beach and he was afraid of the waves. Poor guy. Loved the sand but kept picking up sticks and things. Ick! I was afraid he'd try to eat them.
This is our room. Nice huh?! Mom said she wants an apartment this size!
Ah - the view...
Yesterday we went to the beach again. Thought we'd try it again when Josh wasn't so sleepy. Uh no. Still afraid of the waves. So we went to the pool. He really liked that. He had his floaties on and I think that helped. He still wanted to hang on me but after awhile would float a little on his own with me close by.

We did a repeat of yesterday today with the pool. That was nice and relaxing but someone seemed ready for a nap so we left and tried to nap. he wouldn't nap at all! Oh well.
We also went to Broadway at the Beach yesterday. Josh had a good time playing on the dinosaurs. :-)
Today we went to the Japanese steakhouse for dinner. Even with no nap he did very well. He didn't throw too much food and was pretty well behaved. He even ate some shrimp and a little steak. :-) He did really well and only threw food once one the grill. :-) It didn't touch anything else and wasn't eaten off of so all was good. He's getting a bubble bath now.
Right now I'm waiting for the rest of the "girls" to get here for the Cross Stitch Pals convention festivities for the evening. I was off by half an hour of when the start time was but at least I have some peace and quiet - something I don't get much of lately - and a few minutes to update the blog. Hope you enjoy the pictures and videos. I'll update more later.

Sunday, October 18
Today started out bad but got much better - so far. Josh took two naps and I got one. I got most things packed and in the car ready to leave on Tuesday for MB. Woohoo!!! I'd still like to get something around to stitch and finish an ornament but we'll see.
Josh is doing much better with steering his tractor. He's good enough that I got the cart out and put that on for him too. I think he liked it.
Right now he's eating oatmeal. I thought he got a spoon out of the drawer but he got a measuring cup instead. Apparently it's much yummier to eat it out of a measuring cup than off a spoon. :-)

Saturday, October 17 - Part 2
Saturday, October 17
It's been awhile since I posted last. I've been sick and dealing with a typical 2-yr old. He's still fun but a little less fun when you're sick.
Anyway - I have a few new pictures of him to share. The first is from Thursday night. He had some yogurt and apparently missed his mouth. LOL More practice perhaps?
He had some chicken stir fry that I made for dinner and lost a piece of zucchini down his shirt. He never did find it but I did. :-)

Today was another frustrating day at work but at least I got to come home to Josh. He's so funny! Today he wasn't too interested in dinner until I made him mac and cheese. He tore that up. In the meantime the dog ate more oatmeal - after he dumped it - than he did. He did eat a pudding pop though. :-) Cute isn't he?
I could tell he was getting tired but I wasn't quite ready for him to go to bed. So he made another one. He dumped all of his toys out his toybox and put his blue blankie and duckie pillow in and climbed in. So of course I had to cover him up. :-)

Sunday, October 11
Today didn't start out the best. Luckily Nena was here to help. She was a HUGE help! We tried to get Josh to take a nap after being up at 6 - but he was having nothign to do with it. So we kept putting him back in his room so we could work in th ecomputer room. Made a dent in that. but no naps for anyone. We also went throgh some of Josh's little baby toys and put them away and also picked a few to keep at nena's house. Mommy's hoping Nena has a sleepover soon but we'll see. :-)
Well Josh wouldn't listen to mommy so he got his second time out today. I had trouble not laughing at him since he'd sit with his feet on the kitchen chair wiggling his feet back and forth. Was kind of funny but he sat there. :-)
Yesterday we printed off daddy's picture and put it on the fridge so he could see it whenever he wanted to. He went over all on his own and pointed at it "Daddy Daddy!" with a great big smile. This time he kissed daddy's picture a few times without me asking him if he wanted to. Then he gave me the picture so I could kiss it too. :-) I think I need to laminate another one so sticky fingers won't ruin it. :-) I don't think this one will last too long.
Well he FINALLY took a nap around 3:30 and it's now almost 6 and he's still napping. I hope he's up soon so he's not up all night. We'll see...
Oh - I had really good intentions today but they didn't quite work out well. I had everythign set up to record the Eagles game for hubby and it didn't work out well. I noticed it about half time and started it but for some reason it only recorded an hour. OH well. Next week's is already set up to record. :-)
Well he's up - Good (I think).
